Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals: What is your understanding of the verse in Malachi about the Elijah?

I know you aren't looking for my answer but I can't resist. Elijah came in 1836 to the Kirtland Temple on what I believe was Easter/Passover weekend of that year. He restored the keys of the sealing powers to Joseph Smith which is to bind the generations through the ordinances of the temple. The spirit of Elijah has been poured out upon all nations in that people are searching for their lost ancestors and their temple ordinances are being vicariously performed for them in the temples of the Lord. Eventually, all the generations of the family of Adam will be sealed together in an unbroken chain and presented to the Lord as those that will be His in the resurrection.
