Do white people get uncomfortable when reading the bible?

look if you read the old testaments from the book of ecclesiastes to the book of malachi, the common theme is that, the chosen people of God were sold into slavery and used and abused and made to do forced manual labor because they were worshipping idols ( lots of idol worshipping in africa). then it also says the people who mistreated them will be destroyed and punished and will get a curse from generation to generation when the time comes etc etc. does this make white people somewhat uncomfortable seeing as they fit the bill of the later
